We care for unwanted guinea pigs, and rehabilitate them so we can then find the perfect new forever home for them! All our boars are neutered, this prevents any accidental breeding and as boars can be challenging to match with a friend, means a sow can be added to a single neutered boar if necessary. We never rehome guinea pigs to be a single guinea pig; everyone needs a friend! Our guinea pigs are handled a few times a day, meaning they are easy to handle in their new home, a particular advantage for children. We can also offer a bonding service and boar dating! Contact us for a chat to see how we can help your specific needs.
We are a friendly family team, working from our two homes to care for guinea pigs and place them into loving ‘forever homes’! Julia and her daughter Pippa have owned guinea pigs for 15 years, but have become heavily involved in rescue work since 2014. They have previously fostered for another rescue, seeing 170 guinea pigs through their care. They have cared for many pregnant guinea pigs and very poorly ones as well. Jan has also been fostering since 2014 and has cared for many boars after the neutering process. We also utilise other family members to help with transporting guinea pigs when needed.
We are based in 2 homes, The Nest being in Stoughton and The Branch being in nearby Oadby. Julia and Pippa work at the Nests base and Jan is just 10 minutes away at the Branch of the Nest. Both homes have cosy, roomy set-ups for our rescued guinea pigs. Both provide indoor and outdoor runs for during the day, weather dependent. Having two homes means we can move guineas pigs to whichever set up suits their needs best at that time. The Branch is a smaller and therefore quieter set up, which can be more suited to very nervous guinea pigs, where they can have more attention.
